What is urbee?
Urbee is a web service for mobile phones that serves the need of being updated in easy way to the social life of a city.
Basically it is an application in a calendar format with listings for events and going out places, all structured in
categories.
Errr, can you explain in a simple way?
A good example would be the following IM discussion I had with a friend of mine:
she: I saw on your weblog about your new website
she: I didn't get it very well....I need to read more carefully the details
me: hey, it is not a website :)
me: it is an application that runs on your mobile phone
she: meaning what?
me: it is like web-based city guide with all the movies, concerts or pubs from the city crammed in a calendar on your mobile phone
me: do you use the calendar from your phone?
she: yes...
she: only for reminders though
me: well, it is exactly like that calendar
me: and when you click a day
me: you have a list of event categories
me: such as movies
me: theater plays
me: concerts, etc
she: aha...
she: nice!
me: and if you click on the movie category
me: you get a list of the ones running, their time and the movie theaters their playing at, You can even directly call
for making a reservation if you want.
she: hey, I think that it's very useful
How often do you update Urbee?
Urbee is permanently updated with the latest events from the web. The mobile content is, evidently, having the latest data
just before the update. The application has an option of instant updating via mobile internet (Options -> Update)
What does it do exactly?
Basically urbee is synchronized automatically with a list of events from the web. So when you download the app on your
mobile phone you will have available the latest info available on the web. You can also set up alerts for any of the events
you might be interested in.
Moreover, besides the vents you also have available a list of going out places from the city (i.e. restaurants, pubs, clubs,
theaters, etc)
How much does it cost?
It's free. The service provides constant and instant info update and is available to anybody for free. We don't exclude
however that some of the future features would not be available for free - if that'd be the case we will let you know in
advance.

I already have Urbee installed. Do I need to reinstall everything?
Not necesarily - you can update urbee directly on your phone from the application by selecting Options -> Update.
We also recommend that you should have the latest version downloaded on the phone.
For what cities is Urbee available?
For the moment Urbee is available in Romanian only for the city of Bucharest. We intend to deploy localized versions for
other European cities and we're working on it as we speak. :)
What kind of mobile phones is Urbee working on ?
Urbee works on all the phones that support Java MIDP 2.0.
Yeah, we know, most of you have know idea what that is - for the non-technical we are working on list of phones it
should work on.
